Setting Up “Product” Discount Codes for Specific Ranks

How to Set Up

1. Go to the “Discounts” section in your Shopify admin, and click “Create discount.”



 

2. In the “Select discount type” modal, click “Product discount by rank.”



 

If an error message appears on the discount creation page, please refer to “What should I do if an error message appears on the discount creation page?” below.



 

3. Setting Up “Product discount by rank”



Method

Select “Automatic discount.”

Title

Enter the name that will appear in the discount list (Customers will see this in their cart and at checkout).

4. Enter the “Discount Percentage” and the target rank name(s).



 

Discount Percentage

Enter a number between 1 and 100.

Target Products

• Collection – Select a collection to apply the discount.
• Product Tag – Enter product tag(s). Multiple tags can be entered, separated by commas (e.g., Tag1,Tag2).
• Selling Plan (e.g. subscription plans) – Specify whether to apply the discount to products with a selling plan.

[Ranky] Target Rank Name

The rank name that will be assigned to eligible customers after evaluation. Note: If the rank name does not match exactly, the discount will not be applied.

5. Click “Save.”



 

Note: The discount will be saved as “Active” by default. If needed, you can select “Deactivate”. After reviewing the settings, make sure to reactivate it.

• If multiple combinable discounts are available, each will be applied to the subtotal.

• If multiple non-combinable discounts are available, the one with the largest discount amount will be applied automatically.
